In case you want to check the income tax refund / assessment status you can go to the following website link , put in your PAN NO.-- Assessment year & you will get the details of the IT refund Status.
Additionally if you have HDFC or ICICI online account you can get a detailed form 26AS – This form will show all the receipts under your PAN No along with any TDS made.
FOR HDFC BANK : On your left hand side menus navigate down to View tax Credit statements
Your PAN number will be visible -- Proceed further --In the next menu you can see the Form 26 AS screen, click the same & you can get detailed statements of Salary paid, TDS made on the same etc,
You can also download & save this statement for your records, (available from Year 2005-06)
This is important because many times Banks will cut TDS on FD Interest & we will lose the TDS benefit as the TDS certificate arrives late.
Alternatively In some cases if a payment is wrongly credited to your PAN No, then it is your responsibility to get the same corrected, else the Income tax people will tax you for the wrong entries,
